ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE YEAR 2014-15


1. Educational Braille Books-: Braille books are provided by the Govt.
2. GAMES EQUIPMENTS:- Necessary equipment’s for games is being provided to the students and they enjoy indoor as well as outdoor games very much. Cricket, Chess, Chinese Checker and Peg Boards are all most popular games. Exerciser has also been purchased to keep the students fit and healthy.
3. BRAILLE TEACHING AIDS:-
(I) New teaching aids for the students were also purchased and a separate room has been provided for the students to make use of these new teaching aids in order to update the knowledge of Visually disabled inmates. Most of the teaching aids were purchased from NIVH, Dehradun and from some private organizations.
(II) One Braille Embosser has been donated by M/s. Larson & Toubro to convert written material into Braille Language and also to get the No. of copies required of the said documents. This will help Blind Students in their study and also to save their valuable time. The Executive Committee is grateful to the Management of L & T for donating to the noble cause.
4. SPECIAL EDUCATION MATERIAL:- In order to enhance the mental capabilities of our Visually disabled students, special education material has also been purchased. Life size models of animals and toys have been purchased for the nursery students, so that through their in built capability to touch and hearing, they could gather more information about the world around them.
5. SEPARATE PORTION FOR GIRLS INMATES IN HOSTEL:- A separate portion on the first floor of the Hostel has been constructed exclusively for Girls Students. Fans have been donated by SBI Branches of Khyala & Rajouri Garden. The Executive Committee is grateful to the management of SBI for Donating to the noble cause.
6. COMPUTER TRAINING-: Computer training to Students from 5th standards onwards is being provided by a talking Software (JAWS) regularly by a qualified computer teacher who guides them properly.
7. MORAL AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION TO THE STUDENTS:- Every effort is made to provide moral and physical education to the students. Friends from different religions come regularly and make personal contacts with the students. This not only helps the students in updating their knowledge but also gives them a better idea of their religions too. Daily Yoga Classes are being organized by the institution with the help of experts in the field.
8. RESULT FOR THE YEAR 2014-15: - During the year 2014-15 from classes Nursery to 12th standard, Our two students of Class XII namely Km. Rinki Sharma and Km. Babita got 81% and 78% marks in Board’s exams. Their result is highlighted in the pictures. Rest 31 students secured Ist Division, 14 students secured 2nd Division and 3 students secured 3rd Division in the annual examination. Seventeen students of Nursery could not cope up with Braille, hence retained in Nursery and first classes.
9. The Statue of Late Sh. M.P.S RATHORE (Founder of the Institute) was installed in the premises of the institute as a mark of Respect to the departed soul.
10. SPECIAL ACHIVEMENT BY THE STUDENTS
(i) The students of our school have learnt the art of Yoga including Rhythmic & Artistic Yoga from an Eminent Scholar of Yoga Shri Hemant Sharma (Social Activist). The students performed with the students of S.D. Public School, Pitam Pura and proved that they can also perform like other sighted students. They were praised by School authorities and the General Public. A trophy along with participation certificates was also awarded to every student. The Executive Committee Members, staff and students of this Organization are grateful to Smt. Anita Sharma, Principal of S.D. Public School who arranged different stages for the Blind Inmates of this School to prove their skills. Their love & affection for the students are praise worthy.
(ii) Our students contested in Yoga activities during MTNL Health Mela-2014 and secured First position. They were honored by Dr. K.K. Aggarwal, Chairman. The students were appreciated by everyone present in the function.
(iii) Master Minku Tiwari student of this school participated in Braille reading & writing competition organized by All India Confederation for the Blind and won First Position at National level. He was given a cash award of Rs. 8000/- and a certificate by the Hon’ble Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot.
(iv) Our three students Viz. Km. Deep Mala, Master Minku Tiwari and Master Sanyam got Ist, 2nd & IIIrd position in Clay Modeling and also got cash awards.
(v) Our students presented Yogic Dance, Rhythmic & Artistic activities in the programme organized by Manovikas in association with Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and secured First Position and an award of Rs. 15,000/-. This was a great moment for the students as well as for ABNS, whose students brought Laurels for the Association. They were appreciated by all the Members present. It was a new Mile stone for Blind Students which was made possible only with the sincere and great efforts by the Social Activist Shri Hemant Sharma. The members of the Executive Committee congratulated Shri Hemant Sharma for his efforts and hope that he will continue to give his valuable time to the students of this Institute in the days to come.
(VI) Our students were given National Disability Excellence Award 2014-15 for performing in cultural Activities (Yoga) by Shri Sandeep Kumar, Hon’ble Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt.of NCT, Delhi. The Association was awarded Trophy & Shield & each student was given Medals by the Minister.
11. FUTURE PROGRAMME FOR THE YEAR 2015-16 :-
• Construction of multipurpose auditorium.
• Production of Braille Teaching Material including Computer
• Inter School competitions in music, sports, yoga, debate and poetry.
• Installation of Playing Equipment.
• Procuring Furniture and other utility articles for the students and the staff.
• Excursion programme.
• Efforts will be made to complete the Construction work at Kotputali Rajasthan as early as possible
The Institution manages its monthly expenditure on free education and Hostel facilities etc. through donation in Cash and Kinds in addition to the regular subscription received from its members.
The donors and subscribers are the valuable source of inspiration for one and all of the institute. While acknowledging their patronage, the Executive Committee thanks them for their sincere and noble efforts and look upon them for their future commitment in improving the status of visually disabled of this Institution.
Inspite of the recommendation by the committee dealing with Grant-In-Aid in Social Welfare Departments, No Financial Aid has been received since 2008. The Executive Committee is once again grateful to the Donors who are giving Regular Donation for this Nobel Cause
